My name is Wesley “Chosen Lyric” Shannon. I’m a 10x published poet. I used to perform a lot more Spoken Word/ Storytelling, & I will in the future.
Although I am a New York licensed real estate salesperson, I work for my mom’s realty, UBS Holdings Inc. as an assistant. I am studying to pass the state test for my Florida real estate salesperson license. I also used to do some digital marketing work for a record label that soured at the end, so I opened up an Instagram marketing agency for independent artists. I have a few other entrepreneurial aims I haven’t even mentioned yet, but I’ll get into those later.
I can honestly say that I’m one of the people who felt a sense of analysis paralysis from starting my blog, but when I really thought about it: getting married is a great reason to start a blog. So after many years of hiatus, I’m finally going to give it a whirl.
Last week, on 11/11/24, I married an amazing woman named April “Sweettooth Beats” Hall-Shannon. Our wedding date, before we were married, was our eleventh anniversary. The wedding cake had an “11” on it. We vibed well together since day one, & she had been present for all the ebbs & flows. She is a beautiful, versatile woman with a great attitude & personality, but one of the first things I noticed was her smile. My dad has dementia, so I’m happy he got to see us get married while he still has a fond memory of us.
In the event she decides to try any entrepreneurial aims, I’ll definitely market them. If I’m lucky, we’ll get to create some art together.

Our close friends, Katie & Sarah Hirsch, who are damn near sisters to us but truly are real sisters to each other, were witnesses and took some photos with us & of us. Our wedding was held in Melbourne Beach, Florida, in Brevard County, at Spessard Holland North Beach. Our officiant was Florida Weddings LLC, and as you can see: they did a great job, especially on short notice:
